AMCM’S Facelift Embodies Its Mission

The façade, featuring glass cladding, was envisioned by Mr. Apacible to remind AMCM employees of their Christian duty. Just as glass reflects the sun’s rays, he encouraged the employees to radiate Jesus’ love in their actions and interactions, shining with the love of Christ through their work.

On August 12, the Adventist Medical Center Manila (AMCM) unveiled its new logo and modernized façade just months ahead of its 95th anniversary. The unveiling ceremony was led by Pastor Gerardo Cajobe, Chairman of the AMCM Board of Trustees, and Mr. Elias Apacible, AMCM President. The highlight of the event was the lighting of the new AMCM logo, conveying the evening’s theme: “GLOW AMCM”- Go Light Our World, Adventist Medical Center Manila.

In his remarks, he expressed, “May this be a symbol of our unwavering commitment to the mission of Sharing Jesus Christ’s Healing Ministry.”

The new logo design, featuring three inverted Ls, represents the mission of the Adventist Church to proclaim the everlasting gospel, as embraced by the Three Angels’ Messages.

Acknowledging a divine Being behind all the efforts and successes, Pastor Cajobe reminded the administration and staff of Psalm 127:1, “The builders labor in vain, unless the Lord builds the house.” He added, “I trust that this new facade will be a constant reminder of God’s presence, where the sick and broken find healing and everyone can glimpse God’s love and grace. May the One who heals the physical, bless this hospital so that it will always be a beacon of hope.”

Mr. Rabi Velasco and Dr. Jade Hintay, both members of the AMCM board of Trustees affirmed God’s faithfulness to the institution. Dr. Hintay remarked, “This speaks of God’s power and faithfulness and I am blessed to have witnessed it.”

Dr. Mary Jane also expressed her congratulatory message to the whole hospital team – dedicated, sacrificing, united and mission-driven. The dedicatory prayer was then offered, not only to dedicate the new façade but also to consecrate the workers, that they continue to unite with Christ in relieving the physical and spiritual needs of their fellow men.

This major renovation marks the first time the main building of AMCM, formerly known as Manila Sanitarium and Hospital, has been changed from its original design in the 1940s to its present modern glass cladding and new logo.
