Ministry Through the Golden Printed Page

Always on the go, the Publishing Ministries, along with the army of printed page preachers, carried out the following programs and events for fruitful 2017:

1. Publishing Leadership Academy

The department spearheaded the Publishing Leadership Academy on August 2-5, 2017 at Boracay, Caticlan, Aklan. The academy was attended by 72 delegates composed
of Publishing directors, Area Publishing Supervisors,

and ABC Managers. The training and curriculum were designed to develop efficient, competent and committed publishing leaders.

2. 11th National Literature Evangelist Convention
One thousand one hundred fifty-six (1,156) participants flocked to Davao City for the Tri-Union Literature Evangelist Convention held on September 19-24, 2017.

In line with the theme: “Reach Everyone with Christ Our Righteousness” the messages propelled literature ministry frontliners, the literature evangelists to reach wider and farther, visit more unreached households and lead more souls to Jesus.

The following guests who graced the event were:
Almir M. Moroni, Publishing Ministries Director of the General Conference; Samuel Saw, President of Southern Asia-Pacific Division; Viviencio R. Bermudez, Publishing Ministries Director of Southern-Asia Pacific Division; and Florante P. Ty, President of Philippine Publishing House. Tri-Union administrators, publishing directors and literature evangelists gathered to affirm their commitment to the printed page ministry.

Elder Marroni delivered such powerful message concluding it with exciting exploration of “encounters with Jesus.” Jesus invested in literature evangelists. He invested in the dying world. “Learning from Jesus, following His footsteps of self-sacrificing service, is the best decision one could ever make. The living mission of this ministry is the supreme ideal of our existence.”

Taking active part in seeking the lost no matter how lowly our contributions be, has a far reaching effect for the salvation of many.

3. Mission & Conference Spiritual Retreat

NPUC Publishing Ministries initiated a localized Literature Evangelist Spiritual Retreat in missions and conferences:

Dates/Venue Missions & Conferences

June 1 – 3, 2017Central Luzon Conference, LMS, Lipa City

August 18-19, 2917 Mountain Provinces Mission

May 5-6, 2017 Villa Estrella Resort, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur, Northeast Luzon Mission, Mt. Atio-an, Ramon, Isabela

January 13-15, 2017 South Central Luzon Conferences, SCLC Headquarters, San Pablo City

April 4-9, 2017 Southern Luzon Mission, Naga View College, Naga City

The intention of the event was to encourage the book army to remain faithful in the literature ministry as this is the entering wedge of the gospel. They are to work double time to prepare the field for the soon return of the Jesus Christ and as they faithfully serve others, they too will be fortified spiritually.

4. The Spirit of Prophecy Congress

One of the gifts of the church is the Spirit of Prophecy. The end-time remnant was bestowed with this gift to strengthen the faith of the believers and to respond to the Three Angels’ Message to witness for Christ. The program addressed the needs of the church and its members to be aware of the call of the prophets. Ellen G. White is one them, a prophetess who provided counsels, testimonies, and guidance for the church from its conception until it reached its maturity. The congress also answered and resolved some issues like dress code, women ordination, state of the dead, and several others. The missions and conferences who responded to the challenges were the following:

September 8-10, 2018: Central Luzon Conference, LMS, Lipa City

August 18-19, 2018: Mountain Provinces Mission MPM Headquarters, Baguio City

March 11-12, 2017: Palawan Adventist Mission Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

The three missions and conference, including pastors, directors, and church members expressed how they were greatly blessed.

Also, some issues and queries were properly settled by the following presenters: Pr. Vevencio Bermudez, Dr. Reuel Almocera, Dr. Nestor Rilloma, Mario R. Pallaya, Atemio Jimenez, and Pr. Abraham M. del Rosario.

Let the publications, the papers, the pamphlets, be working among the people, and preparing the minds of the reading class for the preaching of the truth.
Let no stinted efforts be made in this line, and the work, if begun wisely and prosecuted wisely, will result in success.
But do be humble and teachable, if you would teach others and lead them in the way of truth and righteousness.
—Life Sketches of Ellen G. White, 304.

5. LMS Training and Seminars

The LMS Highlights of Training and Development offered various useful subjects such as: introductory curriculum, net marketing, lifestyle medicine, entrepreneurship, evangelism (Adventist History and Health Evangelism), personal evangelism, and salesmanship.
