Adventist families from districts of Bayanan, Sucat, Cupang and Silangan of Muntinlupa City conducted the said feeding program, under the leadership of Pastor Redante Honorica of Muntinlupa District and in coordination with barangay officials. He emphasized the benefits of the program, saying that they want to serve the community even just through a simple, yet beneficial action of sharing healthful meals.
Barangay Kagawad Letty Sicat of Barangay Cupang showed her appreciation for the activity which she commended as a favorable undertaking especially for the children in their district.
In Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa, designated group of Adventist volunteersdidnotonlyservemeals to the community, but also trained the families to prepare healthy food for their own households. Barangay Captain Mamerto T. Sevilla Jr. of the said district strongly advocated the principles behind the program, which he expounded as highly cooperative and complementary with the local government’s move in overcoming malnutrition and poverty.
Department of Social Welfare (DSWD) Muntinlupa staff representative Dolly Lopena explains the department’s eagerness to support the Adventist endeavor as she likewise acknowledged the reality that several children rarely have the opportunity to be served with healthful meals that will help them acquire health and vigor and physical and mental strength.
The day ended with pleasant smiles and blissful tummies. The objective was well received by the community. Above all, more than the food given, relationships were built.
