The Central Luzon Provinces Mission (CLPM) of Seventh-day Adventists, the youngest mission under the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) inaugurated its temporary office located on the second floor of the Balibago SDA Church in Angeles, Pampanga on November 4, 2024. The event brought together leaders from the NPUC, the Central Luzon Conference (CLC), and the entire CLPM team– office staff, field pastors and some lay members – to officially open the office and dedicate it for service to constituents.

Pastor Gerardo Cajobe, NPUC President, in his keynote address reminded those present that the building is not merely a structure but an “altar” that speaks of God’s presence and provision. Much like the altars that Abraham set up “a declaration of his commitment to God, a reminder of God’s promises, and a visible witness to the nations that the Almighty was with Him, CLPM headquarters “stands as a beacon, a place where we proclaim to the world that God’s presence dwells among His people, guiding, sustaining, and empowering His church.”

Cajobe closed his message by inviting everyone to “commit to making this place a house of prayer, where we bring our praises and our burdens, our victories and our challenges. Let this be a place where faith is strengthened, where we seek God’s wisdom, and where His Spirit is felt in every decision, in every plan, and in every mission.”

Following Pastor Cajobe’s message, Pastor Reylourd Reyes, CLPM Executive Secretary, provided a brief overview of CLPM’s formation. As the work in CLC territory expands, so too do the challenges. To address these, the leadership saw it best to reorganize the territory into two fields: CLC and CLPM. This reorganization aims to enhance local governance and representation, improve member support, and strengthen evangelism and outreach efforts.

Another highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of plaques of appreciation by CLPM Treasurer Joel Manlungat to institutions and individuals whose support was instrumental in establishing the temporary office. This was followed by the unveiling of the office’s signage and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

For Pastor Gerardo Estabillo, CLPM President, the inauguration of CLPM’s temporary headquarters is “the beginning of a renewed commitment to our mission to ‘make disciples and proclaim the everlasting gospel to prepare many people for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ This Mission Office will serve as the center for our outreach initiatives, a place for support and resources, and a space where we come together to uplift one another in faith and service. He expressed, “Here in this temporary office, we will begin reaching for our high vision – Making Every Church Missional where members will think, speak, act, plan, and give to advance God’s mission – until we finally establish our permanent headquarters together.” He also expressed appreciation for the support of church members, urging, “Let us unite in prayer, dedication, and effort for the Lord’s mission.”

The reorganization of CLC, leading to the creation of CLPM was approved during the Midyear Meetings of the Southern-Asia Pacific Division (SSD) in May 2024. This new mission will cover the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija (excluding the municipalities of Cuyapo and Nampicuan), Pampanga, parts of Tarlac, as well as Zambales. Additionally, it will include the municipalities of Dinapigue and Palanan in the province of Isabela.
