The dissolution of the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) was officially approved on November 19, 2024, during the NPUC Special Constituency Meeting held in Pasay City. This action comes after the General Conference Executive Committee approved the proposed reorganization of NPUC into two separate union missions – Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (NLPUM) and Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (SLPUM). To initiate the proceedings for the establishment of the two new union missions, the division office called a constituency meeting of NPUC to vote on the dissolution of NPUC, the first step in organizing the new entities.

The dissolution of the union conference takes effect on November 19, 2024. Meanwhile, the reorganization of NPUC into two union missions is effective on January 1, 2025.

Also present at the special constituency meeting were former administrators of NPUC, who were recognized for their dedication and sacrifices which have significantly contributed to advancing the mission of the North Philippine Union Conference over the years.

In his remarks, Pastor Roger Caderma, President of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division stressed the legacy of the past leaders acknowledging their efforts in strengthening the gospel work and achieving conference status. He emphasized, however, that it is now time for the incoming leaders together with the constituents to continue building on this foundation and accomplish remarkable things for the Lord.

To most of the constituents, the reorganization has brought joy as it speaks of the growth and progress of the work within NPUC. However, it can’t be helped that some of the office workers expressed a sense of sadness. The reorganization, while necessary, is a bittersweet transition as they prepare to part ways with individuals they have come to consider as family.

As the reorganization takes effect, the commitment to the mission remains strong. Two Fields, One Mission.
